Interestingly both talk about Khoo (habit) and dostii (friendship)

I am by nature a collector and an archivist. (Sometimes I feel like I have missed my calling as a librarian.) So it is not surprising that collecting sher-o-shaayari has been a hobby since childhood. Categorizing them and arranging them by theme was a logical extension of the same. This was the genesys of Unwaan, a thematic collection of Urdu couplets (ashaar = plural of sher).

I have started with five widely disparate themes for no reason other than my whim. :) You can find them all on the Themes page. One theme has been selected as the theme of the week - urdoo. You can find a link to this from the home page as well. The other four are: bazm, bosaa, Ghazal and paan.
